Paid membership addon lets you monetize your website by offering subscription based membership plans. Depending on the membership plan, users can unlock different parts or features of your site, which you can restrict with visibility rules such as User / Author membership plan condition

This addon can be enabled in  WP admin ➝ Voxel ➝ Settings ➝ Addons ➝ Paid Members

Once you enable Paid Members addon, in the main admin menu “Paid Members” will become available.

Plans

You can create and edit membership plans in WP admin ➝ Paid Members ➝ Plans

By default plan, there’s a single plan created by Voxel named the Free plan or the Fallback plan.

Fallback plan

The fallback plan is a default, complimentary membership plan that all users are assigned by default. Essentially, this plan serves as the basic, free option assigned to everyone until they choose to upgrade to a premium plan. Moreover, this fallback plan is automatically applied to customers whose premium memberships have either expired or been cancelled.

Creating a membership plan

To create a membership plan, press Create plan button, and provide a Label, Unique key and optionally a description

Once the plan is created, you can edit it. The settings are split into three tabs

• General
• Prices
• Supported roles

General

In the General tab, you can set the label and description. Under “Advanced” there’s an option to archive plan.

Archiving a membership plan will make it unavailable to new users. Users already on this plan will not be affected. Archived plans can be unarchived again or they can be deleted permanently.

The delete option appears after the plan is archived.

Prices

In the Pries tab, you can create prices for this membership plan.

When creating a price you can set:

• Label
• Price
• Discount price
• Currency
• Subscription interval
• Enable free trial

The same membership plan can have multiple prices for different billing periods. For instance, you could establish one price for customers who opt for a monthly billing cycle. Alternatively, you could set another, more enticing price for those who commit to a longer duration, like a 12-month period.

This strategy is often used as an incentive to encourage users to commit to longer-term plans.

Supported roles

If you have made available multiple users roles, you can choose for which roles a particular plan is available for.
