The Timeline (VX) widget can be used to add social activity to your site.

General settings related to this widget can be configured in WP admin ➝ Timeline ➝ Settings

General

User timeline:

Control the visibility of posts shared by a user in their timeline.

• Public: Visible to everyone
• Logged-in: Visible to all logged in users
• Followers: Visible to followers only
• Customers: Visible to customers only
• Private: Visible to the user only

Timeline feed

Some general settings related to Timeline widget including

• Posts per page
• Replies per page
• Enable reposts and quotes
• Show author username

Actions

• Purge Timeline related stats. Useful if you are not seeing up to date data related to timeline or followers

Statuses

Create status settings

• Max length (in characters)
• Allow image uploads
• Max image count
• Max image size (in kB)
• Allowed file formats
• Allow editing of published posts

Display

• Display “Read more” toggle after (in characters)

Quotes

• Truncate content after (in characters)

Post rate limiting:

Limit the number of statuses a user can publish in a time period

• Minimum time between posts (in seconds)
• Maximum number of posts allowed in an hour
• Maximum number of posts allowed in a day

Replies

Create reply settings

• Max length (in characters)
• Allow image uploads
• Max image count
• Max image size (in kB)
• Allowed file formats
• Allow editing of published replies

Display

• Display “Read more” toggle after (in characters)
• Max reply depth. (When max depth is reached, further replies are displayed as mentions)

Reply rate limiting

Limit the number of replies a user can publish in a time period

• Minimum time between replies (in seconds)
• Maximum number of replies allowed in an hour
• Maximum number of replies allowed in a day
